Common problems

Coffee Machine Problems We Fix

  • No heat or lukewarm coffee

Likely cause: This often points to a heating element, a thermostat or a safety cutoff that has tripped. Heavy scale inside the boiler can also keep water from reaching the right temperature.

  • Water leaking underneath

Likely cause: Leaks usually come from a worn seal, a cracked hose or a loose fitting inside the machine. A drip tray or drain line that has backed up can look like a leak too.

  • Weak pressure or slow shots

Likely cause: A tired pump, a blocked water path or a clogged group head can all cause this. Scale buildup is a common reason, and so is a grind that has drifted too fine.

  • No steam from the wand

Likely cause: Dried milk often blocks the steam tip, which is easy to miss. When the tip is clear, the cause can be a steam valve, a pressure control or a boiler that is not filling.

  • Grinder jams or will not grind

Likely cause: Oily beans, a small stone in the hopper or worn burrs can stop a built-in grinder. Sometimes the motor runs but the beans are not feeding down.

  • Error code or flashing lights

Likely cause: Bean-to-cup machines usually stop and show a code when a sensor, the brew unit or the water flow is not right. Write down the code or the light pattern, because it helps narrow the fault.

Our process

How a Coffee Machine Repair Visit Works

  1. Tell us about the machine

When you call or send the form, share the type of machine, where it is installed and what it is doing. We set a visit with a 2-hour arrival window and reply by phone or email to confirm.

  2. We find the fault

The technician runs the machine, checks heat, pressure and water flow, and looks for leaks and scale. On a plumbed-in machine we also check the water supply and the drain.

  3. You decide

We explain what we found in plain words and tell you the cost before any work starts. The choice to go ahead is yours.

  4. Repair and test brew

We fix the fault, then brew, steam and run hot water to make sure the machine works the way it should. We also show you any care steps that will help keep it running.

Coffee Machine Repair Across Houston

Tap water in Houston carries a fair amount of minerals, and those minerals turn into scale inside a hot boiler. Scale is one of the most common reasons we see coffee machines lose heat, lose pressure or start to leak. A water filter and regular descaling, done the way your owner's manual describes, can help a lot. Humid air also makes ground coffee and beans clump, so grinders here tend to need cleaning more often.

Questions

Coffee Machine Repair Questions

Do you repair machines in cafes and offices, or only in homes?

Both. We work on home machines and on commercial machines in cafes, restaurants and offices in Houston. Tell us where the machine is and when the space is open, so we can plan the visit around your day.

Should I descale the machine before you come?

If the machine is working and your owner's manual gives descaling steps, it is fine to follow them. If it is leaking, tripping a breaker or showing an error, leave it off and unplugged, and let us look first.

My machine is built into a cabinet. Can you still work on it?

Yes. Built-in coffee systems slide out on rails for service in most kitchens. Let us know it is built in when you call, so the technician comes ready for that kind of job.

What should I have ready for the visit?

Clear the counter around the machine and have the model number handy if you can find it. It also helps to keep some of the beans and the water you normally use nearby, so we can test under real conditions.
