Range Repair in Houston, TX
A range does two jobs in one box, so a single fault can stop dinner twice over. A burner that only clicks, an oven that never gets hot, or a door stuck shut after a cleaning cycle are all things we repair in Houston. Call (832) 332-1641 or send the online request form and tell us what the range is doing.
- 10+ years of experience
- 3 months warranty on labor and parts
- Cost told before work starts
- Appliances 20+ years old repaired
Smell gas? Leave first, then call
If you smell gas, do not try to find the leak. Leave the house, do not touch light switches or light any flame, and call your gas utility or 911 from outside. Once the home has been made safe, call us at (832) 332-1641 for the range repair.
Common problems
Range Problems We Fix
-
Burner clicks, no flame
Likely cause: The spark is there but the gas is not catching. Clogged burner ports, a cap that is sitting crooked or a cracked igniter are often the cause.
-
Oven will not heat
Likely cause: On a gas range the oven igniter usually grows weak with age and can no longer open the gas valve. On an electric range a burned-out bake element or a failed relay on the control board is more likely.
-
Food bakes unevenly
Likely cause: A drifting temperature sensor can make the oven run hotter or cooler than the dial says. A worn door gasket or a convection fan that has stopped turning can also leave one side underdone.
-
One element stays cold
Likely cause: On an electric top, the element itself, the socket it plugs into or the switch behind the knob can fail. Usually only one of the three is bad.
-
Clicking that will not stop
Likely cause: Igniters that keep sparking after the flame is lit often have moisture or a spill in the switch under the knob. A failing spark module can do the same thing.
-
Door stays locked
Likely cause: After a self-clean cycle the latch motor can stick, or the control can lose track of the lock position. High cleaning heat can also trip a safety fuse and leave the whole range dead.

Our process
How a Range Repair Visit Works
-
Tell us about the range
When you call, we ask if the range is gas, electric or dual-fuel and whether the trouble is on top, in the oven or both. The model number, found on a tag inside the door frame or the storage drawer, helps us prepare. We then agree on a day and a 2-hour arrival window.
-
Testing the top and the oven
The technician runs each burner and the oven, then checks the parts that match the symptom: igniters, elements, the temperature sensor, switches and the control board. On gas ranges the connections are checked as part of the visit.
-
You hear the cost first
Before any repair work starts, we explain what failed and tell you the cost of fixing it. You decide whether to go ahead. Nothing is replaced without your say.
-
Repair, then a real test
After the part is fitted, we light every burner and bring the oven up to a set temperature to see that it holds. We also check that the door locks and unlocks as it should.
Range Repair Across Houston
Summer storms along the Gulf Coast bring power flickers, and the electronic control on a modern range does not like them. A board that acts strangely after a storm, with a blank clock or random beeps, is a common call. The damp air here also plays a part: moisture can get into the igniter switches and cause clicking on humid days or after a big pot boils over. Many Houston homes cook with natural gas, so we see a lot of worn oven igniters too.

Questions
Range Repair Questions
Can I keep using the burners if only the oven is broken?
Often yes, because the top and the oven use separate parts. If you smell gas, see sparks or scorch marks, or the breaker trips, stop using the range and call us.
Why does my gas burner have a yellow or uneven flame?
A healthy flame is mostly blue and even all the way around. Yellow tips or gaps usually mean the burner ports are dirty or the cap is not seated flat. If cleaning the cap and setting it back in place does not help, the air and gas mix may need adjusting by a technician.
Do you repair glass-top and induction ranges?
Yes. We work on radiant glass tops and induction ranges, including elements that will not heat and touch controls that stop answering. A cracked glass top can often be replaced without replacing the whole range.
What is a dual-fuel range, and is it harder to fix?
A dual-fuel range has gas burners on top and an electric oven below. It is not harder to repair, but it does mean two kinds of parts in one unit. Tell us you have one when you call so the technician comes ready for both.

I am very pleased with this company’s performance and their tech, Isa, was very kind and respectful. He was knowledgeable and very quick to get started and courteous with his work. He cleaned up everything after, I couldn’t even tell that he moved the washer. The machine is fixed and working perfectly. Thank you so much!
